IC INFORMATION
Character Name: Eiichi "Kawase" Segawa
Species: Human
Canon: Hashihime of the Old Book Town
Canon Point: Post-Kawase Route (second route)
Character Age: 21
CRAU: No
Character Appearance: asshole supreme
Powers and Abilities:
Hashihime: Though not currently possessed, he was previously possessed by a hashihime; the spirit of a bridge in their hometown, that grants the host the ability to travel back in time when they step through water. How far back they can go depends on how old the water is; a puddle on the ground from a storm will take you back to the beginning of the storm, while melted ice from thousands of years ago could take you back centuries. The host's eyes turn a bright, cyan blue, detectable only by other hosts or ex-hosts (or probably those that are spiritually attuned), but if the hosts acts non-selfishly for the sake of helping someone else, the hashihime will become jealous and leave, and you will be punished by whatever disaster or ill fortune you fear the most. Again, Eiichi is not currently possessed at his canon point, though he obviously was the host of a yokai in the recent past. I have absolutely no intention of trying to regain time travel nonsense, I am so sorry mods.
Spiritual Hallucinations: The game itself makes it unclear if this is some sort of spiritual power or pure hallucination at times, but the protagonist of the game has the ability to conjure elaborate, colorful illusions, and see certain spirits (which may or may not be real???). Eiichi has gained this ability basically from spiritual contact through the hashihime, though his own power is far more limited. As it depends on creativity, and Eiichi is not very creativity, the extent of his own hallucinatory ability seems to be affecting the immediate landscape and environment around him, such as creating a closed room or a lake that he's now standing in, and being able to see/speak to spirits/hallucinations that already exist (he's able to interact with Tamamori's Frog Man spirit, which he may have completely made up, but damn the frog is real now anyway).
Medical Student: In no way supernatural nature, Eiichi is regularly described as a genius in his hometown, and was able to pass the extremely difficult entrance exams to the Imperial University on his first try, and is now a student of the medical program. He's been attending for about two years, and specializes in studying virology and surgical medicine, though he has absolutely no experience actually doing any kind of surgery.
What Did Your Character Wish For? "I wish I could be someone that people could love." (Translation: He believes he's a fundamentally bad person, that is, there is something wrong with him, and wants to be a good person so that he can be worthy of love and no one gets hurt.)
What Potion Did They Receive? Blue/Healing magic potion.
Did They Drink It? Yes, with little hesitation, mostly because he thought he was dead already anyway. It manifests as a warm touch like coming into contact with herbal hot spring water, that gives the impression of "washing away" any bruises or scratches. Thankfully without actually getting anyone wet.
Character Questions:
1. Who is the person your character is most bonded with from their canon? Or who is someone they miss the most?
As far as being bonded to, in a way this is one of his childhood friends, Hachihachirou Umezawa (aka "Hanazawa"). He was most likely the first person in Eiichi's life to show him any sort of affection or kindness-- for a time, he looked up to him, and Hanazawa took care of him. Because of the death of Hanazawa's father at the hands of Eiichi's own father, he feels indebted to the man, and would do anything to make it up to him, to the point where he is the only character Eiichi will unequivocally concede to (though Hanazawa only feels utter disdain for him).
But as far as who he would miss the most, that would be his other two friends, Tama Mizumori and Minato Suizenji. He's been in love with Tama since they were children, and thinks the world of Minato, believing them both to be good, amazing, wonderful people. He desperately wishes he was more like Minato, or for Tama to acknowledge him, and has taken great pains to protect the latter for years without saying a word.
2. What are they most afraid of?
Despite his crass and rough exterior, he desperately doesn't want to hurt anyone else-- or at least, in a way that matters. He believes becoming too close to people, or even touching them, will 'taint' them with whatever is wrong with him, and bring them misery and misfortune. In the bad alternate future, he became a military surgeon that conducted terrible experiments on the conscripted soldiers, and he blames himself for taking away their dreams and futures, believing the only way to fix it was to remove himself from the equation. When he betrays the Hashihime possessing him, she retaliates by nearly crashing the train he's on; and as the Hashihime's price for violating her rules typically constitutes what the host would consider the worst disaster, nearly killed and harming innocent lives is the worst that Eiichi can imagine.
3. What is their weakness? Emotionally, mentally and physically?
Physically, despite his tall stature and aggressive nature, Eiichi is basically a rail thin wet noodle person. He's thin under his clothes, and underweight from lack of eating, and throws his size and strength around basically through sheer force of will and stubbornness. Mentally, he has severe germaphobia and borderline OCD; he can't stand the thought of dirt and germs and filth to the point where he has become physically repulsed at the thought of being near something that was touching a dead body, and has gone into shock from falling into the mud on a rainy day. He takes great pains to keep clean, and cannot stand the thought of touching or being too close to other people. Emotionally, he has a severe history of abuse, and being called 'disgusting,' gross, or anything akin to that, or any touch or trauma to his throat or neck area can fuck him up pretty bad.
4. What would make them happiest?
To be of use to the people he cares about. This is, in Eiichi's opinion, the only way anyone would be willing to keep him around or put up with him; he is perfectly fine with someone he loves hating him,but at long as he is indispensable to them, he's happy to be of use. However (while he himself doesn't even realize this), the deeper truth is that he would be happiest having people that cared about him unconditionally, and were genuinely happy to see him, and being able to feel secure and safe with those people. He wants to help and make other people happy, and what he craves most is not being alone, and the attention of the people he likes.
5. What’s their type for a lover?
Eiichi is attracted to kindness and passion. Though he acts derisive and critical, especially to people who are more optimistic and cheerful, it's because he possesses little optimism or passion himself. Because he lacks these qualities, but wishes very deeply that he was a better person, it's something he deeply admires in other people: the ability to be open and happy, and share that joy with other people, to be so easily kind to others, and to be able to do good, and make the world brighter with their presence. Considering his own (perceived) lack of moral fiber, he adores people that he perceives as steadfast and strong in the wake of what would make weaker people lash out or do harm. Someone who protects and helps other people, and is able to share what they have with the world, and acts out of genuine sincerity and earnestness-- that's the kind of people that he's attracted to.
